  1. Jacksonville Beaches

Does your dream day include having a meeting, closing your laptop, then heading to a beach? It can be a reality in Jacksonville. There’s plenty of beaches to explore with different water, sand, and sea creatures. 

You’ll see people boating, fishing, swimming, surfing, sunbathing, running, and building sand castles.

In Jacksonville, you are 15 to 30 minutes from a beach no matter where you are. Jacksonville Beach is close to Atlantic, Neptune, and Ponte Vedra Beaches. Huguenot, Amelia Island, Fernindina, and St. Augustine Beaches are also close.

2. Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens

Enjoy fun, up close animal encounters! The Jacksonville zoo has grown from its modest beginnings in Springfield to be considered one of the city's premiere attractions, with more than 1,000,000 visitors in the last year.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars

 Are you ready for some football? Cheer on the Jacksonville Jaguars when they have home games. The TIAA Bank stadium always has something fun going on. You can enjoy open practice (training) days, preseason games, and regular season games. Nothing beats the in-person experience!

5. Cummer Museum of Arts and Gardens

The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens is the largest fine arts museum in Northeast Florida. The Cummer was established in 1958, when art collector, garden enthusiast, and civic leader Ninah Cummer bequeathed her art collection and riverfront home to create a museum. Today, the core collection of 60 pieces from Mrs. Cummer's estate has grown to include more than 5,000 works of art. The historic gardens, set against the backdrop of the St. Johns River, serve as a centerpiece of beauty for all to enjoy.

9. World Golf Village IMAX Theater

12. Helicopter Tour

First City Helicopters offers several tours of St. Augustine and the beaches. 

The tours give you amazing views of beautiful sunsets, the beach and beautiful Florida coastline, old downtown, landmarks including the St. Augustine Lighthouse, the Bridge of Lions, the Castillo de San Marcos, Flagler College, and the Nombre de Dios Mission. 

You will take off from the St. Augustine Airport and enjoy the views of the experience you choose. This flight does require reservations in advance.

13. First Wednesday Art Walk

Downtown Vision has proudly hosted the First Wednesday Art Walk since 2003 to welcome people to DTJax and celebrate the community’s deep pool of creative talent.  

We’re excited to announce the return of this beloved Downtown event in October 2021. We invite you to bring your family, friends and coworkers for a self-guided tour of Downtown’s northbank core on the first Wednesday of every month.
